The U.S. Centre for Disease Control (CDC) tabulated the risk of HIV infection based on a study entitled “Estimated per-act HIV transmission risk: a systemic review”.1

The key message of their findings is that the risk associated with sexual intercourse was reduced most substantially by the combined use of condoms and antiretroviral treatment of HIV-infected partners.
